Welcome back everyone, I hope your work week went well and I hope your weekend will belong to you. Two things I have told myself, (1) Take life for what it's worth and (2) not to do any more podcast with 17-18 tracks...I can't handle that when it comes to the show notes.
But besides that everything is great. This podcast will have a positive hip-hop track(that was inspired by Macedonia's BSOTS episode #69[the track was "love, hugs and hip-hop"by carlos nino & lil' sci]). With that said I want to keep the positive vibe going with my podcast.

"Natural" was inspired because it's a very positive song to me from Arrested Development and because I may step on some toes here but I think the natural woman look has been look. At work I see so much weave, fake eyelashes it makes me sick to my stomach. To see a woman her natural hair and natural features I would not know how to act.
I'm loving this track form Dan Heck because it puts me in mind of the sound from Spike Lee's "Mo Better Blues". I'm upset with myself because tracks like "Blade's Groove" remind me that how I should have given traditional jazz a chance years ago but thank God I can go back and here earlier recordings from the greats(Miles, Coltrane, Parker, Armstrong). I'm loving the solos from each of the musicians in this track, truly amazing

It's something about whenever I hear a jazz track with the organ it. I do not listen to blues but it gives it that "bluesy" feeling (is that a word? If not, I just made it a word). William Ash, "The Soho Strut" is a very laid back, chill track that takes me back when living in Florida, having the window open at home and just letting the sounds of nature and the jazzy tunes just let me melt in my recliner.
I love, love, LOVE this entire CD by Wind Machine. I stumbled across this CD when I check it out from the library back in the late 90s. One of the things I love about "Voices In The Wind" is the acoustic guitars are all in harmony, the vocal harmonies, the fretless bass played on some of the tracks. There are a hints of keyboards but mainly the acoustic guitars are the show and I love every track. I highly recommend adding this CD to your music library.
I have to admit I have this LP and have not put it on my iPod and that is stupid on my part. This is a very beautiful song from Don Ross. "Ebon Coast" is a song that when you place two talented musicians[Don Ross & Andy McKee] in the room and they are not worried about who gets the spotlight this is what you get...a gem. I will be loading his LP, "The Thing That Came From Somewhere" on my mp3 player and if any other track jumps out at me, I will be sure to showcase it in future podcast.
The tune from Medwyn Goodall I think is pretty nice, pretty soothing. It puts me in mind of the Arabian movie soundtracks. "Ra(Single Version)" is a tune that had to grow on me and now that it has it will be in heavy rotation on me iPod. ^_~
From the WOW Gospel 2000 double CD "Secret Place" by Darwin Hobbs is a wonderful, uplifted gospel track that for me when hearing this track it puts me in mind of King David when he would go off to himself and have intimate conversations with my Lord and Savior.
This was the very first song I heard from Pat Metheny and believe it or not VH1 used to play this video on their Sunday Brunch show back in the day...man I miss when MTV and VH1 showed "videos". This was the first time I heard a guitar sound this way and it blew me away. I did not know of Pat Metheny but when hearing "Are You Going With Me?" I knew I had to begin buying his music and I have never looked back. This track is from their "Offramp" released back in 1982 is a classic because it still sounds good after 20 years.
*New Zealand producer Daimon Schwalger has released music under the name The Nomad for many years. This downtempo-with-dub-influences album was originally released in 2005, and is now available digitally for the first time
This track is that will make me look into this artist in the future. I remember back in the late 90s we had a reggae club here on "The Landing" here downtown St. Louis and I have to admit, reggae music is very hypnotic. People may not agree but it puts you in a very, relaxing state. This track, "Common Sense" by The Nomad[Daimon Scwalger] is on point and I hope I will in future be able to find more of his work.
This bassist can do no wrong with me. Michael Manring gift takes me a back each and every time. This track "Sightings" from his Unusual Weather" LP always brings a smile to my face. With the help of Paul McCadeles.
It's a shame we do not have a jazz station here in St. Louis any more because this is how I learned of these twin brothers[Wayne and Nelson Braxton] out of San Francisco. The Braxton Brothers' "Now & Forever" was one of very first jazz CD a purchased when I bought my first CD player back in the mid 90s. "All my Love" is one track that I do not mind vocals on because the sister can sing and it fits the composition.

I always did like Arrested Development's "Natural". They sampled EWF's "Sunshine".
@nikki:Mr Wendell is also one of my favorite tracks from them. :-)
